When Reasonability Meets Ire

If someone says, “Hey, you can go to jail for saying that. Please respect people and culture.” People usually chant blindly about respecting ideals, however, could we also give the same to the rising of “Das Herrenvolk”? There are still establishments, and we cannot merely dismiss them as ‘minorities’ to discredit it as a culture. If minorities are to be disregarded, there are yet many respectable cultures which we should emulate from. So as Sam Harris said, fundamentalism is not the problem, it is the fundamentals that are. Neither can we say, if we should regard the opinion to be verified due to number of their endorsers. While opinions do matter, and we should also know the agenda.

This is one thing I don’t understand. You can get assaulted for hurting someone’s feelings? On matters of religion, it is even worse. Does this god have such a fragile emotion? That divine, all-power Titan who built the universe would care a few words in which he has all power over … can get ‘hurt’? It has to be the people, they are ‘playing God’, because if there really is such an advanced being, he would have known this trillions and trillions of years ago. If he said nothing or did nothing, why would he want mortal men to do his judgement? Since when did God appoint anyone to do so? Clearly, it is easy to send a mini lightning to strike any iconoclast? Was is it compare of a tiny bolt of volt to the volcanic eruption that wiped out almost everything on earth 75 000 years ago or even the black hole that is swallowing up stars hundreds of times larger than our Sun? Unless, of course, that ‘god’ is human in disguise writing his decree.

If the agenda is to cast light on what is under-addressed. My point is to understand the difference of topics under the witch-hunt where scientists were burnt on sticks for trying to bringing forth the awareness. The important point is to understand if there is an intent to hurt. If there is none, why is there the desperation to demonize and gag out that discussion? People has not come to a point to learn basic civility which makes me wonder what kind of civilization we are even living in. Have the schools failed us? Have the teachers and parents failed? Consider how Socrates was sentenced to take the hemlock for discoursing some propositions. If people go to jail for saying things that that the majority does not like, rather than it being really discriminating and unfair, this is truly disturbing indeed.

We hear comments that go like: “If you really dislike this country so much, perhaps you should do everyone a favor and return to your country.” Instead of making such statements that solve nothing, why can’t people think in the line: “Hey buddy, what are you not happy about? Let’s work it out together. It’s some real work since you found the problem. Help us to make it better.”

“My fellow Citizens of the world, ask not what America will do for you, but together we can do for the freedom of man.” — John F. Kennedy, 1961–01.20
which is much important and yet has been so downplayed and unfocused as compared to :
“My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” — John F. Kennedy, 1961–01.20

There is not even a hint of an argument. Any opening for an exploratory discussion is met with excessive hostility.

There is something that is still quite universal. We want to know the truth. We can collaboration to find that together, and it is good for all. Humanity can thrive to find the truth as a platform, and be on the way of discovering their true self. I think most of us would agree on this.

Humanity that wallow and rot in pride and malignant ignorance, on the other hand, does not deserved to be saved.

What is Not a Troll (internet jargon)?
1. A person who wants to get to the bottom of things.
2. A person who tries hard to discuss and reason properly without fallacy, esp ad hominem and populist fallacy.
3. A person who does not label the other person as one just because she or he does not like the proposed ideas or facts.
ps. One is not a Troll just because you said something other people do not like, as long as you consider the above. So no worries, let’s discuss.
